Sarah has combined elements of the officially recommended routes to make a route which takes in most of the best points of interest. There are actually 2 routes. One of them is slightly longer and requires a car shuffle. Nearer to the date we will decide which of the two to do.
Note: This is a walk in Torca near Antequera. It takes about 90 minutes to get to El Torcal by car from Almuñecar. Sarah and I plan to stay the night in Antequera. Contact us if you want to find out more.
This route explores the Paraje Natural del Torcal de Antequera. The Sierra del Torcal mountain range lies between the cities of Antequera and Málaga and comprises the Sierra Pelada, Torcal Alto (with the highest point being the Camorro de las Siete Mesas at 1336m), Torcal Bajo, and Tajos y Laderas. The area is renowned for its spectacular limestone rock formations and we can see most of the most impressive ones along the walk. This 10.3km route starts and finishes at the Centro de Visitantes in the Paraje Natural del Torcal de Antequera and consists of two loops.
